the low down
Everybody has a dream. Did you hear that? Everybody.
I was the kind of kid that always dreamed big but the world seemed so out of reach. Then a guy told me once, “If opportunity doesn’t knock on your door, build another door.”
That’s what I strive to do in my writing, filmmaking, photography, web design and other creative endeavors. You can build the door and be whatever it is you imagine...it is all about the details.
As a filmmaker, I’ve worked professionally with director Betty Thomas (John Tucker Must Die, The Brady Bunch Movie), Douglas McGrath (Infamous, Nicholas Nickleby ) and Lucy Walker (The Devil’s Playground). Some of my writing mentors have been Carolyn Coman (Many Stones, What Jamie Saw), Charles Smith (Puddn' Head Wilson, Knock Me A Kiss) and Vincent Cardinal (MTV's The State and Greenpoint). I gotta tell you, I feel pretty lucky!
I’m an award-winning filmmaker and
novelist after garnering the Delacorte Dell
Yearling & Award in 2004 through Random
House. I love skateboarding, surfing and
am an absolute music fiend!
My first novel Prizefighter En Mi Casa
picked up: the Parents' Choice Silver
Honor, a Flamingnet Top Choice Award,
a National Council for the Social Studies
Notable Book and made the NYC Public
Library Teenage List. Check out the
